Gabrielle Union Refutes Claims On Wrecking Dwayne Wade’s Marriage, Says It Damaged Her Career

Gabrille Union was accused of destroying the marriage between her boyfriend, Dwayne Wade and his ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches.

Termed the other woman and a homewrecker when she began dating Wade three years ago, while he was embroiled in a messy split from his wife.

However, Gabrielle has bared her mind and talks on how it affected her career.

“It’s hard because aside from loving him I wanna protect myself. I’ve built my life, I’ve built my own brand, I’ve built my own career. And my career took a hit from that madness because some people just refuse to see the truth even when it’s presented to them time and time again,” Gabrielle told TT Torrez at last weekend’s Radio One Fest in Miami.

“I love him, but at some point it’s about self-preservation and I needed to protect myself and everything I built. I pay for my family, I pay for my momma and my daddy and my sisters and her family. D doesn’t write those cheques, I do, so when something is starting to affect how I make a living, no, no, no baby.”

She also talked about how it affected Dwayne’s kids.

“Let me figure out a way of not only protecting our home that me and Dwyane have with the kids, you have to put them first and their love of their mom and their love of peace of mind and their love of consistency first,” she explained.

“And then, I gotta make sure I can still feed my own family, and luckily, by taking the high road and not engaging in the back and forth craziness, I was able to do both.”

“Luckily by doing the right thing and putting the children first, it worked out that I was able to save myself.”
