Many know that Missy Elliot and Aaliyah were very close and spent a lot of precious moments together, hence it was not a surprise when Missy had some wonderful things to say about the late singer.
41 year old Missy said to Rapfixlive: “Aaliyah, she was like a comedian. She always wanted to laugh.”
Missy went on to talk about her first meeting with Aaliyah which also included Timberland seeing as they were just setting out to make a name for themselves.
“We were nervous when we first worked with her because nobody knew who we was,” Missy explained.
“She came in and was so warming; she made us immediately feel like family.”
On whether she supports Aaliyah’s post-humous album being produced by Drake, Missy said: ‘I don’t even want to talk about that because I’m being asked a lot.”
She continued: ”It’s very sensitive, but because she represented positive energy. She was very positive. I don’t ever want to bring controversy around her name.”
