Olympic’s Mo Farah Becomes A Father To Twin Girls
Big congrats to London 2012 champion Mo Farah as he announces his wife gave birth to twin girls yesterday (August 24).
It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for the Team GB star. Just a couple of weeks ago Mo was dedicating his two gold medals from the London 2012 Olympic games to his unborn girls. The athlete confirmed the big news in Birmingham today where he is preparing for tomorrow’s Aviva Grand Prix event.
He told Sky News: “My wife gave birth to two little beautiful girls. It is very exciting.”
Ever the athlete, Mo was asked if he would be joining his wife at her bedside to which he quickly replied: “No, no, no. I’ve got a race tomorrow, haven’t I?”
Farah is hoping to break Steve Ovett’s outdoor record of eight minutes, 13.51 seconds for the two-mile distance at tomorrow’s Grand Prix. Fingers crossed he can bring home another first place win to make up for not being with his family!
As well as daddy duties and athletics, the 29-year-old is also rumoured to have signed up as a guest mentor for the current series of The X Factor. Simon Cowell is reportedly keen to sign Mo and fellow Olympians to teach the contestants about dedication and hard work.
