Steph Jones was born in Houston Texas,his mother was a DJ and his father was a drug dealer who was murdered when he was twelve. Steph featured in the single “Celebrity Chick” along with Ludacris, Chingy and Small World. He has made cameos in music videos (Bobby Valentino’s Anonymous, Destiny’s Child’s Jumpin’ Jumpin’, Toya’s “I Do” and Faith Evans’ “I Love You”) Steph Jones is known for his single Mr Ordinary. - Hey Steph thank you for granting the interview, How are you?

Im good man and it’s no problem, thanks for having interest.

- Congratulations on your recent mixtape, Gravity, i must say i really love it. Let me start by asking, How did the journey all start?

Honestly my mom is a DJ so music was always something i loved but i guess the passion for it started at my highschool graduation when i sang “Tears In Heaven” by Eric Clapton and dedicated it to my dad. I made everyone cry and thats when i realized the power of music.

- Tell us about your background, education, family, what your fans need to know about your childhood. I know you were born in Houston Texas, you lost your dad at the age of 10, you moved to L.A for college on a scholarship and you dropped out of college to model, tell us more about Steph Jones, why you dropped out of college to model.

I witnessed my father being murdered by 2 drug dealers when i was 12. It was really tough to deal with growing up but i did and now he is in my heart. I left college because i didn’t feel that the education i was learning applied to my life and i got really bored so if i couldn’t be there whole heartedly then i didn’t want to be there at all.

- You have written songs for some artistes, Jordin Sparks, Jesse McCartney amongst others, when you see them perform the songs you wrote for them, do you ever feel like, “Oh i should have written this song for myself” ?

Nah when i write a song and its for me, it will definitely be for me unless Lady Gaga wants it.. Yeah she can have whatever she wants I Love That Women!! ha ha

- Steph there is one thing i’ll like you to clear up for your fans real quick, it’s been rumored that you are dating Jordin Sparks, Are you dating Jordin Sparks?

She is my best friend and understands me more than anyone. We are taking things one day at a time but who knows for the future? I guess we will find out

- What project are you working on currently?

Right now i am working on another mixtape called “old man Jenkins” in which i’m remaking a lot of old school classics. I also have a lead role in a feature film coming out this year called “FEEL” directed by Brett Leonard
